Engine
From Ace Online/Airrivals Wiki
Engines are what make a gear go, part of the required equipment for a gear before it flies.

[edit] Engines Attributes
Max Speed: The maximum cruising speed of the gear while this engine is equipped. This can be affected slightly by vertical movement (slower when ascending, faster when descending). This is also a part of determining how fast a gear can feathering.
Min Speed: The minimum cruising speed of the gear while holding the 'S' key. Also the minimum speed of the gear when ascending.
Boost Speed: The maximum speed a gear can obtain while boosting, this speed can only be sustained for a limited time as indicated by the the boost time.
Boost Time: The maximum amount of time that the booster can be used before overheating, thus disabling the booster until cooldown time has passed (cooldown time is equivalent to boost time). Boost time can be extended by a technique called feathering.
Ground Speed (A-Gear Engines): Determines how fast an A-Gear can move on the ground. Can be boosted by a skill.
Standard Turning Angle: How fast the gear can turn while not boosting.
Boost Turning Angle: How fast the gear can turn while boosting.
Weight: How much an engine weighs, which affects several things depending on how much total weight the gear is toting.
[edit] Types of Engine
[edit] Fast Engine
These are the main work horses for open war, they have the highest cruise and boost speeds of all the engines, yet at the same time they have the worst turn angles and highest minimum speeds (which makes turning more difficult), and they tend to have lower boost times too (the lowest being 4 seconds for the level 5x Jets for I-Gears). Most can outrun non-speed carded missiles so I-Gears and M-Gears be careful when using non speedcarded weapons, especially against IGs which can outfeather non-speeded arrows nearly permanently! The lowest level ones are rather pathetic but once the engines reach level 27 they become much more useful; level 34 or 35 is usually when a gear will reach its top speed (500 for IGs, 460 for BGs, 400 for MGs and AGs) the mid level Highspeeds have terrible boost times , but the higher level ones enjoy a much higher cruising speed (easier to feather), higher boost time, and at level 86 and beyond, faster boost speeds.
[edit] Midspeed/Turning Engine
These engines are much less seen than the other types of engines. These engines are not nearly as fast as the Fast Engines, but have the best turning radii and speed range of them all. This makes them great for IGs in dens and grinding, but it may not see much use otherwise.
[edit] Slow speed Engines
The slowest speed engines in the game, Their boost speed usually doesn't even match the cruising speed of the fast engines, however they have a good turning rate and can slow down to a near stop (or, for AGs , MGs and a unique BG engine, a complete stop). This makes them great for camping a gate or boss hunting.

[edit] Skills and Items
- The skill Ground Accelerator, a toggle skill used by A-Gears, will increase the ground speed of the engine while traveling on land or water.
- The skill Hyper Moving, used by I-Gears, will increase the turning speed and strafing speed by 10% for a short period of time.
- The skill Overbooster, also used by I-Gears, propels the gear at 600m/s, regardless of the current engine's maximum, for 3 seconds. The gear cannot turn during usage.
- A daily membership capsule called a booster cap can be used to nullify the overheating effects on the booster time for 15 seconds.
- Engine Maneuverability cards can be used on engines to increase normal and boosting turn rates by 1.15 degrees/sec.
- Engine Overheat cards can be used to increase an engine's booster time by 1 second.
- Engine Level down cards will reduce an engine's required level by 1. But any stat requirements of the engine will remain the same.
- Engine Speed cards will increase an engine's minimum, cruise, booster, and ground speeds by 2m/s.
Any Engine card can destroy an engine on the first enchant! Be careful!
